Default 2010 Highlight?
Had such a fantabulous unexpected experience last year thanks to my lovely fiancee....

We were at Gorillaz (& getting pretty bored to be honest) when Stef reminded me there was a band headlining The Other Stage that she really wanted to see. Kinda grudgingly accompanied her & thank the good lord above I did. Got there just as they started & as a 40 year old who has seen maaaany gigs over the years The Flaming Lips turned out to be one of my all time favourite shows. Wayne Coyne is now one of my fav artists & I have Glasto (& Stef of course) to thank.

So.... I was wondering what I missed that really did it for you guys..........

Highlight last year for me was Dreadzone in The Glade. It was the most beautiful sun going down moment ever. Every single person there skanking like mad and there was such a collective good feeling in the air.

The footage I have watched most often over the last year (and I never thought I'd say this) was on the Pyramid stage sat afternoon and we only stopped briefly on our way to see the Dub Pistols - was Jackson Browne. Great musicianship all round and so perfect for a sunny afternoon.

I know this one isn't very imaginative but my highlight from last year had to be Muse not only for the music but the vibe of the crowd was electric (well, in my alcohol influenced head it was anyway )

Having said that we stumbled upon seasick steve on the Saturday and the noises he could get from what looked like a broom handle and a couple of elastic bands blew me away!

Mart: Yeah was there too mate. Chilling on the ground just in view of the stage. Good music with the sun going down behind the flags. Will try to find the pics.

Whatme: Didn't do the circus field etc last year but we're def gonna this year as there's not as many bands we want to see this year. Hope you get a shot of the trapeze

Couldn't agree more! For me, one the the best shows I've ever seen at Glastonbury! Seeing them again this year, the weekend after Glastonbury playing Jodrell Bank Radio Telescope (only they could come up with that idea!), using the dish as a screen apparently!

Other 2010 highlights... Big Yes to Muse! And a big Yes to Dreadzone too, although we missed them in The Glade we caught them in the Rabbit Hole Cafe in the Park, straight after Muse! They were drunk, un-soundchecked and for the first ten minutes or so pretty shambolic! And then suddenly they just hit the groove and what followed was one of the most blissful hours of the weekend, the whole tent moving as one (MC Spee's Bouncing Crew!). Lou was happy cos she found a bench she could stand on so she could actually see the band and dance at the same time! Can't wait to see them again this year!

But also hanging out with friends and rellies, meeting strangers (Lindsay and Ed if you read this, thank you for sharing those two hours chatting and drinking in our little piece of shade), snoozing under a tree in the Park to be woken by Beak on the Park Stage, breakfasts at Groovy Smoothies and Manic Organic... the list is a long one! Details, here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/2265524...7624266734215/

with you all regarding the flips-the other highlights musically for me were the national and especially vampire weekend who I wasn't expecting much of but really kicked things off early friday evening in the summer sun-that was when I felt I had arrived!

Thursday sat in some random tent in the green fields listening some guy with a guitar sing a song called f**k the supermarkets grow your own food!

Was so surreal.

Watching the Levellers at the Glade whilst everyone else watched Stevie, they really rocked the place, as they always do

Whilst you were watching Gorillaz/Flaming Lips, I was at the Acoustic Tent watching the Bootleg Beatles. That ending up being my highlight of 2010.

Couldn't see them as the tent was rammed, but it was a mass sing a long for 2 hours!! Quality!!

A few highlights for me- top of the pile was Muse, had never seen them before and was really glad i did! Being a huge Bloc Party fan I was ecstatic that Kele was there in JP on Friday. Also Ash on Sunday and dancing in a huge circle to New York, New York at the end! OOh- Two Door Cinema Club and Lissey, remembering loads now!

Quite a few: Stevie did it for me, incredible show. Radiohalf also were just immense! Imogen Heap had me in tears of joy, and Alessi's Ark tears of woe.
That's only the bands though..

Mr Nelly went to watch the footie last year so I went for a wander and came across Kevin Cruise on the Blazing Saddles stage. I was a bit so found the whole thing hilarious.

And I also have to say Muse were amazing.

Agree with Dreadzone at the Glade, though had to leave halfway through to go on stewarding duty ... what a bummer.

But have also got to put in a shout for Toots and the Maytals at West Holts on the Sunday; being in a field full of utterly knackered people all dancing to the point of collapse to Pressure Drop was truly an amazing experience.

Oh yes - how could I forget Toots - it was awesome. Just got tickets to see him again this summer in Newcastle.
